I'd planned to go over to the allotment today for some clearing up and to continue to remodel the beds. However I woke up to find that a decent amount of snow had settled.Quite reassuring for this time of year given that it's the north of England.
The cold snap has been a bit of boon for bird life in the garden for as well as the usual fare , including more starlings than for many years, a Nuthatch visited yesterday, and this morning I've already sighted a Siskin and a magnificent Greater Spotted Woodpecker. Unfortunately no photos yet.
Occasional posts about my plot on the allotment site at Over Kellet,Lancashire which has been emerging from overgrown wasteland since the beginning of 2012.Increasingly a travelog with photos from my walks and travels.

Gran Canaria January 2018
Another short trip to Gran Canaria ,this time with 4 nights in the south west staying at Puerto de Mogan and then 4 nights in Las Palmas.

Warm weather days in the south where I did a couple of walks from the Degollada de la Aldea/Mirador de Tarsatico and another from Fataga.
The settled spell of fine weather deteriorated to cold and wet on the move to the north of the island but I still got some good walks in including the final one above Telde ,from Valsequillo up into Barranco de los Cernicalos and on up to the Caldera de los Marteles and down to Tenteniguada with sleet and hail during the 1400-1500 metre top section.
