Another section of my pal Andrew's walk through Ireland. On this leg we used the three islands of Inishmore , Inishmaan and Inisheer as stepping stones across Galway Bay between the passenger ferry ports of Rossaveel and Doolin. Andrew and Mike last visited together for a school project in 1968 and their black and white photos stirred a lot of interest from the locals this time round!

We followed the Western Way through the forest and Sheskin wind turbine works, diverting to Bangor Erris onto the Bangor Trail through the Wild Nephin NP to rejoin the WW at Letterkeen and continued down through Newport ,Westport and then some remoter parts of Connemara to Maam. Andrew did some extra miles to reach the Aran Islands Ferry at Rossaveel to be in position for the next leg of his journey.
