Two more Border Bothies and another visit to the Tibetan Temple kitchen garden
Last Spring my Border Bothy bagging exploits were slightly curtailed by a dodgy car with the exhaust held on by garden wire.A newer replacement vehicle and a good mid April forecast saw me venture forth into the Borders once again,visiting Greensykes and Dryfehead bothies interposed by another visit to the kitchen gardens at the Samye Ling Monastery near Eskdalemuir.Compared to last year's visit in May there's very little in the ground yet but in the greenhouses there's masses of stuff in multisown modules waiting to be planted out.Here's a link to the photo album

North Island New Zealand February - March 2019
Another NZ tramping trip with my pal Andrew.His fourth and my sixteenth(?!)
We rendezvoused at Auckland Airport,his flight from Manchester via Dubai touching down a couple of hours after my flight arrived from Singapore.
Good multi day tramps in the Te Urewera , Kaweka and an overnighter into Leitch's Hut with rest and recuperation on the east and west coasts before during and afterwards.
I had a few extra days at the end mainly on the Coromandel Peninsula and a final evening in Auckland with a ferry trip across the harbour to Devonport.

Singapore stopover February 2019
A three night stopover in Singapore on my way to New Zealand,which included a walk through MacRitchie Reservoir Park,a visit to Pulau Ubin Island, and a look round Singapore Botanic Gardens which have been greatly extended since my "day stopover" on one of my very early trips to NZ.

Gran Canaria January 2019

Another short trip to Gran Canaria which meant that I'd been walking on four of the Canary Islands ( El Hierro , Tenerife x 2 , La Gomera , Gran Canaria ) within a four month period!
My accommodation for the first four nights was in the mountain village of San Bartolome,although three of the four day walks started from Santa Lucia further down the valley. Then following my walk out to Sardina Sur on the Ruta de Sal I moved round to Valsequillo which is inland from Telde for another four (wetter) days.
As with previous GC visits I found lots of "new"old paths had been waymarked and signposted.
