Part of my 2018 look back series. This one was a solo walk from Glen Finnan to Inverie in Knoydart.
The first day to Oban bothy at the head of Loch Morar took me via Sgurr nan Coireachan and down a lovely old stalkers path.I recall that it was misty on top and I discovered that my compass had packed in with the needle pointing every which way.Luckily there was a line of old metal fence stubs which helped lead me to the top of the stalkers path.

The next day I forded the Morar river and followed another fine stalkers path past Lochan Eanaiche into Upper Glen Dessarry and then down muddier paths through Mam na Cloich Airde to Sourlies bothy at the head of Loch Nevis.A busy bothy as this was in the Boots Across Scotland season but I had my tent which meant for a quieter night's sleep.

Camping at Sourlies |
From here I completed my walk to Inverie via the Carnach bridge and path over Mam Meadall.
Then a comfortable night at the bunkhouse and good food and drink at the Old Smithy Inn. Much better weather than on my most recent Glen Finnan to Inverie trip in September 2016 with a select Dallam crew, where on the way down to Sourlies the rain lashed down and the rivers were near impassable.
Also a more cordial reception at the pub in 2005 than 2016.Say no more!
