Another catch up post.
Last summer I stayed in one of the shepherds huts at Wooler Hostel in Northumberland ,when there were still quite tight restrictions on the use of the communal spaces.Fortunately this September with the gradual opening up I managed to book a two bed room with ensuite for single use and the members kitchen was now in use again.A big plus, as was the nice warm spell of weather.
During my short visit I did a mtb ride over to the Breamish Valley from Alnham and back via the Salter's Road , a local walk in the hills to the east of Wooler and back through Glendale , and another mtb ride from Holburn Grange via St Cuthbert's Cave and moorland and forest tracks on either side of Greensheen Hill.
