Back over on the ferry from La Gomera to Tenerife for the second half of my holiday, staying in Icod de los Vinos and then Bajamar.
Icod gives good access to walks in the north west area including the Teno region and Bajamar to those on the Anaga penisular.
Newly all new ground to me even on the Anaga where I've been quite a few times and am now doing walks based on the geocaching.com site which are not in the guidebooks.

EL Hierro and Tenerife - October 2018

Another trip to El Hierro , the smallest and farthest south and west of the Canary Islands, flying there from Tenerife Norte airport after staying a night in Santa Cruz.Great views of La Gomera on both the outward and return flights.
I rented an casa in El Pinar and did some good walks high above the coast, up to Malpaso the highest point and also down to La Restinga.
Compared to last year there are more buses with extra services during the day including weekends and now nearly all operate through the "winter" and well as the summer.

Here's a link to the photo album

My walks were:

Bus to San Andres then paths to Fuente de Azofa,Mirador de Isora,Mirador de Las Playas and back to El Pinar.

JMT work party on Isle Martin - late September 2018

Another John Muir Trust work party. This time on the community trust owned Isle Martin who are one of our CALL (Coigach,Assynt Living Landscape) partners.
Follow the links to their website where there's lots of information and Isle Martin also have a Facebook Page

We stayed in the bunkhouse ,with no electricity or hot water, but with liquid gas for cooking and plenty of wood for the fireplace in the evening.

Jobs for the week included barrowing logs and carrying down timber from the coppiced area, wall repairs (dyking) ,path restoration, removing lots of ugly tree tubes ,clearing bracken from the old village street, and harvesting the juniper berry crop.
